The Guest House is also available during the fall. Fall is a beautiful time in Maine, things just seem to slow way down, and the weather becomes bright and clear. Even the feeling is somehow different in the Fall. The foliage is spectacular, with colors so vivid they are engraved upon your memory for a lifetime. The Camden Hills are breathtaking, and there is a great hiking trail. The lobster is still abundant, and you never wait for a window table with a spectacular view. The antiquing season is at it’s best with bargains galore to be found, because the merchants know that business will soon become very slow as winter approaches. Rockport & Camden become idyllic, and lose all their bustle and crowds, making for a very pleasant and relaxing day. In fact, all the nearby seaport towns overflow with tranquillity. The nearby farms in Union, and Jefferson, just a few miles inland, have wonderful fresh vegetables, honey, cider, and other freshly grown produce, and many offer hayrides and great apple picking at extremely reasonable rates. We always find just the perfect pumpkin or two, for the doorsteps and arrangements, after a day of hayriding to the nearby apple orchard. We look forward to it every year and it has become a wonderful tradition. |
